Landscapes

I consider patterns of light and colour relationships to build my paintings up by using shapes. Shapes of colour, shapes of light. Shapes within shapes that are close in tone. Shapes of colour are simply, yet accurately placed next to each so that they create an envelope of light. I aim to create a little packet of light and air on canvas. As I play with these colour relationships, I’m always asking myself ‘what is trying to be shown here? How can I say it simply?

The works are a representation of works from my studio as well as some plein air studies.
