DREAMS AND MANIFESTATIONS
Hi
I hope your year has begun filled with potentials and possibilities. Perhaps some things are still ending and newness can’t be focused on right now. New dreams require our loving attention to grow. They are filled with energy. They come in the middle of the night and we catch them in our waking consciousness. Or we may notice something ‘almost happening’ in our lives, but not quite. The ‘almost’ needs the fire of our loving attention to cook.
In our belief around our separateness we think we have original ideas that we alone have thought up, only to discover that someone else in the world has had the same idea and has started down that path. How does that happen. Carl Jung suggested that our dreams arise from a collective unconscious and we are dreaming up existence together. The collective unconscious is as vast and deep as a dreaming universe. We receive our dreams from a part of us that is ancient.
In Chinese medicine (as I’m also an acupuncturist) we say that first there is Qi, then there is manifestation. Qi is like a potential, an organisational pattern and a life force. Sometimes it’s associated with breath or inspiration. I think of it as the realm of dreaming and alignment. Aligning oneself to a dreaming that is trying to happen and allowing the manifestation to flow effortlessly like water.
I was out painting in a field late last year because this little tree (in the featured painting) drew my attention. I was interested in the sensation of light shimmering in the leaves while the tree felt like it was full of air and water at the same time. I was grappling with how to paint that! I took a photo of my subject. However, it wasn’t until I got home that I realised what the sky was teaching me. Alignments are in the dreaming field we are in all the time, waiting to reveal themselves. Jung called them synchronicities. They require our loving attention and appreciation to cook. Blessings for a year of flow.
Warmly Lynn.
This painting is titled ALIGNMENT. It’s an oil painting on linen mounted on board. Its 30cm x 30cm and available for purchase. I’ve recently loaded some new paintings up that I’ve worked on over last year. Click here to take a look.
