Empty Jar

Posted on August 14, 2017 at 7:02 pm by Lynn Lobo / 0

Dear Reader,
I wanted to paint something simple. That’s how I feel in the morning. I usually walk for an hour, taking in the weather, the atmosphere, allowing my eyes to play with the light and air while my body dreams.

This painting of a jar is a little like how I feel on my walks. Empty, open, breathing, concentrating the light. This jar is like a sun salute greeting the morning light. I wanted to paint that sense of light passing through me; one colour next to another, next to another. I wanted to try to paint the air inside the jar to catch something of how I feel when I’m walking in the morning sunshine.

I’ve used too many words to describe this feeling. Maybe if you linger with your eyes inside this little painting and open your imagination like a child, something will happen.

Thanks for reading
